Darkness Phobia

Phobia of the darkness or Achluophobia prevalent in the children from the age of two years.

Actually, the kids are not afraid of the dark, but the hallucinations that arise when in a dark place just like a monster, witch, or ghost.

In order for your children to be brave in the dark, there are some things you can do.

1. Triggers fear

Ask your child, what makes them feel afraid of the dark. Are they afraid of ghosts, monsters, or other things that trigger their fear? Calm the children and eliminate their fear. Reassure children that he will continue to feel safe and nothing will disturb sleep.

2. Pray before bed

You can also teach your children always pray before going to bed. Teach your child that God will always take care of monsters and ghosts disorder that appears in his imagination. This way, you will receive two benefits at once, which teach religion to the child, as well as eliminate the fear.

3. Light sleep

Provide a night light near the bed. You can choose a light sleep seated at a desk or mounted on the wall. Choose a bed lamp which light is not too bright and not create glare.

4. Open the door of the room

Switch off the room lights, but leave the door open, so that light from outdoors can get into the room. Child will not feel fear, because there is not total darkness.

5. Accompany child

Accompany the child before bed in his room in the dark. And tell a fairy tale and wait until the child fell asleep. After the child was asleep, you can leave the room. Avoid locking the door so your child can easily "escape" when awakened in the middle of the night in a dark room. Eventually he will get used to sleeping in a dark room.

6. Avoid watching a scary movie

Avoid watching a scary movie before bed. Not just a horror movie, but also science fiction movies with scenes that make children feel scared. Watching a scary movie before bed will make your child did not sleep well because of continued looming shadow of a scene in the film.
