THE TYPE OF OILS FOR COOKING


With so many variants that oil can be used for cooking at this time, you may be confused to choose which is the healthiest oil to in use every day. Always remember that oil does not contain cholesterol, but may trigger the growth of the cholesterol in your body.


1. Sunflower oil

Sunflower oil rich in PUFA, linoleic acid which can lower cholesterol levels. Using sunflower oil in the cooking is healthy and safe to be consumed every day.


2. Ghee / Butter

Butter is made from animal fat, so it contains saturated fat and cholesterol. Ghee has health benefits when used in limited amounts in food. But if used too much, then the impact would not be good for the heart.


3. Coconut oil

Coconut oil is often considered unhealthy because it contains saturated fat. However, the fats in coconut oil are not the same as animal fats. Coconut oil contains no cholesterol so it can be consumed for cooking. Even so, always remember to use coconut oil and alternated with other oils.


4. Peanut oil

Peanut oil is containing MUFA which is capable of lowering levels of bad cholesterol in the body without lowering good cholesterol. Peanut oil is usually available in the form of dirty and filtered. The filtered peanut oil may be cleaner, but it can contain toxic substances. So choose the peanut oil that is filtered from a trusted brand. This oil is suitable for all types of cuisine, whether fried, baked, or other.


5. Mustard oil

Mustard oil is liked and hated by most people because it is sharp taste. Mustard oil is the oil filter usually processed and sold as vegetable oil. These oils have unsaturated fatty acid levels are high, so it should be used sparingly only in certain vegetables. If used excessively, these oils can damage the health.


6. Rice bran oil

Rice bran oil, made from rice is rich in fatty acids and a substance called oryzanol, making it great for lowering cholesterol. In addition, this oil also contains vitamin E naturally. When cooking with this oil, try not to heat it up to high temperatures, because this oil will not break down into toxic compounds.


7. Olive oil

Olive oil can help lower bad cholesterol and triglycerides without lowering good cholesterol. Extra virgin olive oil is a good type is used as a salad dressing. But do not use this oil on high heat.


The above are the type of oil that can be used for cooking. Each has its own benefits and uses. Better not keep using the oil for a long time. Use the above oils interchangeably as needed.
