Lack of Vitamin D can lead women to have heart attack and stroke



Deficiency Vitamin D, may increase the risk of heart attack and stroke for women, according to recent studies.

Based on research conducted in postmenopausal women aged 45 to 58, researchers found that women with Vitamin D deficiency are at greater risk of heart attack.

Women who are deficient in Vitamin D had higher levels of triglycerides and body mass index higher, and lower HDL cholesterol. The researchers noted 47% of women who lack Vitamin D in the habit of smoking, compared with 38% of women with normal vitamin D levels.

Approximately 15% of women who lack Vitamin D died of heart failure or stroke. A study showed that people, who take Vitamin D supplements 4000 per day, five days after a severe heart attack, can reduce inflammation.
