Healthy Eyes


As one of the five senses, can not be denied if the eyes becomes an important to us as an asset in order to continue to enjoy the entire beauty world.


If you want healthy eyes, you should begin to realize the importance of maintaining eyes health. Lots of eyes diseases can be minimized if you know how to care for your eyes from the start.

Here are some things you can do in order to maintain your eyes health.


Wear sunglasses

Sunglasses have capable of blocking 100 percent exposure to ultraviolet rays, thus preventing the development of cataracts. This is due to a pair of sunglasses can protect your eyes from direct sunlight which can damage the retina. Sunglasses also protect the delicate eyelid skin, and reduce the risk of skin cancer and wrinkles around the eyes.


Quit smoking

Tobacco is directly detrimental to the health effects, particularly macular degeneration age-related eyes (AMD). AMD is the damage to the macula (nerve in the eyes) a decrease in the density of the pigment that acts to filter light entering the eyes. As a result, people with AMD can not see clearly.

Research shows that smokers and former smokers were more likely to develop AMD than those who do not smoke. Smokers are also at risk for developing cataracts.


Eating Properly

Vitamin or mineral deficiency can damage retinal function. Carrots have been believed to help maintain eyes health. However, a variety of vegetables, especially green vegetables, is also an important part of your eyes health. Research has shown that people who eat foods with high levels of vitamin C and E, zinc, lutein, zeaxanthin and omega 3 fatty acids DHA and EPA tend to have lower risk of developing AMD.



Initial eyes examination

Adults who have no signs or risk factors for eyes disease should perform eyes examination at the age of 40 years. If you have a family history of eyes disease, diabetes or high blood pressure, then you should see an eyes doctor immediately.


Wear eyes protection

Many people who suffered eyes injuries from sports or construction projects. Injuries can be avoided by wearing proper eyes protection.


Know your family history

Many eyes diseases can attack in the family. Thus, knowing the eyes of family health history and discuss it with your eyes doctor may reduce the risk of vision loss and other eyes conditions.


Early intervention

Age-related eye diseases, including cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and AMD are expected to increase dramatically from 28 million today to 43 million in 2020. The most serious eyes disorders, such as glaucoma and AMD, more easily and successfully treated if diagnosed early, because will cause serious vision loss and blindness. Whatever your age, early intervention as early as possible is very helpful.


Know the eyes care provider

Optometrist, ophthalmologist and optician play a role in providing eyes care services. However, each has different levels of knowledge and expertise.


The use of eye lens

Be aware of eyes fatigue
