DERAWAN ISLAND - Marine Tourism in East Kalimantan, Indonesia



Ever heard of like marine tourism agenda Banda Sail, Bunaken Sail and Wakatobi Sail?

In 2013,  the annual agenda of nautical tourism will be located on the  Derawan Island, Berau, East Kalimantan in Derawan Sail program. Sail Derawan tourism agenda in 2013 certainly is different from previous similar programs.

Derawan Sail will begin in June 2013. Derawan Sail 2013, is planned for the world record-breaking dive elderly.  Derawan Sail 2013 will break the world record for most number of divers over the age of 50 years. Later, about 500 divers will create a new world record.

Record-breaking dive, the tournament will also be accompanied by underwater photography. The island has an object Derawan fish and corals as well as a number of small objects such as colored snails (nudibranchs), crustaceans (crustacean), and mandarin fish. Biodiversity and reef fish can be photographed with a pattern of shallow slope reef dives 5-25 feet.

In Derawan Sail 2013, the committee will bring tourists cruise york (browse by ship). This tour agenda will be held in September 2013. York cruise tourists will come from a number of countries through the cruise line north.

The arrival of cruise york is targeted to make new Derawan Island become an international tourist destination.

Around the Derawan Island will become eco tourism areas. Region will be high-value tourism, as well as biodiversity conservation. "The island location is also strategic because Derawan borders with neighboring countries (the Philippines).
